Oil-gas gathering and transportation system occludes important positions in the development of oil field. The expense of this system mainly includes the cost of pipeline construction and investment, the cost on every station and the cost of production. Pipes and stations cost a huge mount money which are 60%~70% of the total investment normally. At the same time, the cumulative cost in every year of it is also very big. Therefore, optimizing the oilfield gathering system and getting the reasonable optimization design scheme is very meaningful for cost-reducing and improving the social and economic benefits.This thesis improves the layout model of oilfield gathering system and put forward optimization model which the optimization function aims at minimum total cast of the last year of a probation period and which the with design variables are relationship between networks, station position and diameter of each connection section.There are huge amount of discrete and continuous variables which are parts of nonlinearity designing optimization problem, which are difficult to be solved in normal ways. This thesis uses genetic algorithm to optimize the model.According to the basic data of National petroleum engineering design competition in 2013, this paper adopts Matlab to write programs code to optimize the design of viscous crude oil gathering and transferring system in region A. In the design, considering the various parameters of the steam stimulation and steam drive, the author designs a multilevel star oilfield gathering pipe network conforming to both the requirements of oil field production at the stage of steam stimulation and the requirements of oil field production at the stage of steam drive. After optimization, the auther obtaines corresponding pipe diameter, pipe network connection relationship and network connection diagram.
