The strip shape is an important standard to qualify the cold-strip steel product, the shape closed-loop control system is the method to improve the quality of the strip steel. The first step that makes the shape closed-loop control system play a role is to provide online shape of the strip steel by the shape detection system.Currently, our self-made shape meters have not been put into practical application successfully. The equipment of shape detection still rely on import. The cost and technical issues severely restrict our production capacity of the high-lever cold-strip steel product. How to improve the measuring precision of shape signal and make it more close to the actual strip shape is the focus of this paper. On the basis of the entire roll inlay block type cold strip meter, the latest research of Yanshan University, this paper will make a further analysis about the calibration precision of the shape meter and the original strip shape signal compensation, which have a great influence on the measuring precision of shape signal.First of all, in order to enhance the calibration precision of the shape meter, setting a virtual a sine wave, which can eliminate the offline zero deviation by the weight of shape detection roll’s mass; Adopting the calibration form of Beam pressure wheel, independently developing the dynamic calibration experiment for the shape meter and eliminating the system error of static calibration; according to the experiment, writing calibration procedure and improving the calibration efficiency.Secondly, studying the influence that interference factors to the measuring precision of shape detection, building the compensation model. Taking the shape detection roll itself into consideration, including:1) In view of the strip additional tension caused by incline and deflection error of the shape detection roll, take the installation form which before and after the shape detection roll without the guide roll, With the increase of the strip volume radius, building the dynamic compensation model of the shape detection roll; 2) According to the detecting unit that are not totally covered by the strip steel, calculating the the start and the end channels’ numbers and cover area, adopting the proportional compensation or the slope compensation, building the edge shape error compensation model. From the perspective of rolling process: 1) On the issue of thermal strain caused by transverse temperature difference of strip steel, making use of four step Legendre orthogonal polynomial to fit transverse temperature of strip steel and building the transverse temperature compensation model; 2) In view of the influence of different strip volume radius to the crimp tension that is the strip tension, according to the changing law of the strip volume radius, building the strip volume compensation model.
