The HAGC system as the core content of the strip rolling mill thickness control is a complex system gathering sheet strip, rolling mill, rolling technical, electrical system and control system. Its control accuracy and reliability influences production quality and efficienty directly, Once the system failed, it will be a direct threat to the normal production and even shut down across the board. Therefore it has important practical meaning to do the fault diagnosis research on it and quickly determine the fault location. In order to make a foundation for fault diagnosis, it is necessary to build a accurate mill model and the corresponding fault model to extract the fault features.First of all, using the hydraulic system software AMESim established a model of mill hydraulic system, and established a flexible coupling dynamics model of the mill with the dynamics software ADAMS. Then through AMESim and ADAMS, The co-simulation model of a mill HAGC system is established.Secondly, using the model to carry out the system dynamic response analysis and simulate failure under different rolling states. By changing the parameters of the co-simulation model, the actual characteristics of the various mill HAGC systems in each common fault conditions are simulated, and the fault curves is obtained under various fault conditions. Then response eigenvalue is extracted and analysed. The fault characteristics obtained can provide the basis for the system failure prediction and failure diagnosis. Finally, according to comparing the experimental data with simulation model results verifed the accuracy of the rolling mill co-simulation model established. Through the mill equipment modifications, the actual external leak failures of the hydraulic servo valve is simulated. Comparing the model fault Curves with fault curves experimentally obtained, the feasibility and accuracy of fault model is validated.
