Gob-side entry retaining is the technology of roadway protection without coal pillar, making the headentry of a section retained as the tailentry of next section through technical means. New high-water-content material has the gateside pack’s good performance, such as fast increasing resistance and strong ability of resistance to deformation. It is the ideal roadside packing material of gob-side entry retaining. With the development of gob-side entry retaining technology, it has been applied to mines with different geological conditions.This paper analies and researches on the surrounding rock movement regularity and the stability of gateside pack on the condition of gob-side entry retaining big dip seam, based on the methods of the theoretical analysis, numerical calculation, field measurement and so on. Combining the industrial experiment of 12050 face machine lane gob-side entry retaining in Bishan, it studies on the roadside packing gob-side entry retaining technology with new high-water-content material on big dip thin seam. According to the geological and mining condition of Bishan coal mine, the way of reinforced support in roadway and the stability of gateside pack are designed and implied. And ground pressure is observed during entry retaining and next face mining, to analyze and research the effect of the gob-side entry retaining.Bishan mine amplies the gob-side entry retaining project successful through using the technology of new high-water-content material roadside packing and technical measures of strengthen the gateside pack’s stability. It relieves the tension of mining development and replacement, improves the safety condition of the mine, improves the recovery rate of coal resources, and has considerable economic benefits and good social benefits.
