With the continuous development and progress of coal mining technology, increasing the automation level is the key to achieve safety and high efficiency production for fully mechanized coal face. As the key electromechanical equipments in fully mechanized coal face, shearer and scraper conveyor cooperative performance and reliability are the main problems to achieve automation for fully mechanized coal face.In order to solve the problems of scraper conveyor large load changes and overload, this paper took the coordinated control key technologies of shearer and scraper conveyer as goals, proposed the cooperative control strategy and developed the shearer speed control system based on scraper conveyer load prediction. The main researches of this paper are as follows:(1) This paper designed the overall architecture of shearer speed control system based on scraper conveyor load prediction, defined the goals and functions of the shearer control system, completed the integrated design and network configuration for crossheading PLC controller, scraper conveyor PLC controller, Shearer PLC controller and combination switch PLC controller(2) This paper established the prediction model of scraper conveyer load based on wavelet neural network by the time series of load current with the mapping relationship between scraper conveyer load and motor current.(3) This paper researched the shearer speed control strategy, applied the fuzzy partition to scraper conveyor based on fuzzy logic and established the fuzzy load state decision model. The shearer speed range have been determined under the different load state of scraper conveyor. The shearer speed is regulated by Elman neural network in prescribed range.The industrial experiment of the shearer speed control system based on scraper conveyer load prediction was performed in 71507 fully mechanized coal mining face of NO. 2 coal mine of Yangquan coal industry co., LTD. The industrial experiment result proved that the system can reach the desired function, which is the foundation of cooperative control for shearer and scraper conveyor.
