Heading face is one of the two main dust source place in coal mine. Fully mechanized heading face has worse dust pollution because of its fast tunneling speed, large air flow, large amount of mechanical equipment. Dust migration and deposition in fully mechanized heading face was researched by the method of field measurement, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation.Firstly, dust sample was taken in N2103 fully mechanized heading face in Yuwu coal mine, Shanxi Lu An group. The Rosin-Rammler distribution function of dust dispersity was obtained, which provided necessary calculating parameters for the simulation later. Besides, dust concentration was measured, which provided result validation for the simulation later.Through the introduction of RANS function, continuous phase function was choosed using in this paper. The calculation of dust migration used the dispersed phase model. The force analysis and the influence of turbulence on the dust were also taken into account. Besides, the mathematic model of dust deposition was introduced as well. The commercial CFD software FLUENT was adopted to calculate dust migration in steady state in this paper.According to the actual layout of N2103 fully mechanized heading face in Yuwu coal mine, the high imitation fully mechanized heading face geometric model was built, in which the mechanical tunneling machine, belt conveyor and other ventilation obstacle were taken into account. The wind field and dust concentration distribution was obtained after calculation. Based on the simulation result, the method of improving ventilation layout or adding auxiliary dedusting facilities was put forward to improve the working environment.At last, dust number distribution, size distribution and deposition rule along the roadway of fully mechanized heading face under different schemes were obtained by changing ventilation amount. As a result, dust particle number distribution conformed to the power exponent law well, and the facility valve about dust deposited on different wall was obtained. The most easily to deposit location of the dust is from 0 ~ 20 m of the heading face.
