In the past decade, the construction of LNG terminals, shaving stations and dehydration plants has stepped into peak with China’s increasing demand in energy. With its enormous improvement on quality and scale of LNG terminals, China has more projects under construction than ever. According to the problems of the recent development of the global LNG industry and the natural gas(NG) supply in China, the following solutions for the construction of the terminal should be adopted: 1. Construct NG pipelines in coast and land for stable supply with proper terminal planning. 2. Shape the consumption structure gradually by implementing various LNG supply. 3. Facilitate the development of LNG related industries and achieve the commercialization of the LNG industry.The Boiled-off Gas(BOG) system, which affects the safety and stability of LNG terminals, is the most complicated part in the terminal. In addition, calculations of the mass balance on this system are the basis for sizing other units and equipment selection in the terminal such as BOG compressor, BOG expansion tank, pipeline and etc. The BOG production volume and LNG supply have real-time fluctuation due to the unloading LNG from the LNG tanker, heat loss in the pipelines, heat emission from the low pressure pump and change in LNG volume.This paper will analyze the factors that affect the BOG production volume and LNG supply from the terminal by using one LNG Storage and Shaving Station Project as an example. The process design for the terminal will be divided into unloading, transporting, loading and other units. This paper studies the method of calculating the production volume of BOG and performs calculation of different units under various conditions. In the end, the calculation method and the selection results can be directly used in large LNG receiving station, and provides a theoretical basis for the selection and optimization of processing system and it is of great practical significance to engineering.
