A Whole machine structure is combined by several components through their joints.The joint characteristic has great effect on predictive accuracy of static characteristic ofthe whole machine. In order to model accurately, the joint feature must be considered. Inthis work, by using the boundary element method (BEM) and the joint theory, thewhole machine structure is equivalently modeled by beam elements and spring elements,the corresponding whole machine static model is constructed and the basic propertyparameters of the unit surface of the joints are introduced. The analysis software of thewhole machine static feature is worked out. The optimal design method based on thegenetic algorithm is proposed with the whole machine structure of multiple variablerestrains the optimal design software is developed as well. The research results show thatthe model and the program are satisfied.In order to improve the modeling accuracy of the whole machine tool, the spatialplate element is studied in this paper by using BEM. The boundary integral equations areset up, and the corresponding algorithm is proposed. It lays foundations for introducingthe spatial plate elements combined structure to whole machine structures.
