Mechanical properties of Plastic-bonded explosive (PBX) depends not only upon ones of single compound explosive and binder, but also upon its interfacial interaction. In this dissertation, the interfacial interactions between TATB and four fluoropolymers were researched in detail, by testing the surface energies for Triamino-trinitro- benzene(TATB) and the fluoropolymers concerned and by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning electron micro scopy(SEM) and Dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA). On the basis of contact angle experiments, surface energies have been respectively calculated by using YGGF equation, geometric equation and harmonic equation. After verifying the relevant contact angles, the each of surface energies for TATB .. HMX F23 14~ F23 11 F2603 and F2463 calculated by YGGF equation is more credible, which is 51.8, 44.7, 30.8, 25.1, 20.1 1IJ 31.1 (mJ/m2) ,respectively. According to the Van der waals component and Acid-base component of adhesive work calculated and the result of XPS , it is showed that there exists no powerful hydrogen bond along interface between TATB and each of the fluoropolymers, the intermolecular interaction at the interface belongs mostly to Van der waals one. Furthermore, from the point of view of adhesive work, thermodynamical interfacial interaction between TATB and F23 14 is the most powerful. By investigations of interfacial losses and A-parameters for the interfaces between TATB and fluoropolymers, it is observed that addition of a little fluoropolymer with low A-parameter into TF 14 will improve the mechanical property of TF14. The opinion about the mechanism of which was put forward in the dissertation. For the purpose of making quick study of the macroscopic mechanical property of the system mentioned above, Brazilian experiment which is time-saving and material-saving, and may be used to evaluate indirect tensions of different PBXs, was introduced in the dissertation, and the better results were obtained.
