Flavones are thought to be more and more important because of their antioxidalive.. anti-free-radical and cancer-pieYenL cancer-resistant activities. In this paper, method of extracting flavones from orange peel is studied systematically, as well as their antioxidative and anti-free-radical activities The main contents and results are displayed as follow1.Extracted hesperidin from orange peel afier different prehandling, found that more flavones were got after dewaxing.2.Extracting hespendin from orange peel by 6 different solvents, results showed that the more hydrophilic the solvent was, the more flavones were got3.Tested the antioxidative effect of all above extracts, found that the extract had better antioxdalive activity if orange peel was dewaxed. The best antioxidative effect was found in extract of methanol followed by alcohol, and extracts of water or basic water had worst antioxdative activity among all the extracts.4.Studied systematically the method of extracting hespeuidin from orange peel by alcohol. The best method was found. using 800/c alcohol as solvent~, 50 times weight as orange peel, extracting for 24 hours at normal temperature.5.Tested aniioxidalive efl~cts when hesperidin from orange peel and dilThrent synergists worked together The results showed that besperidin worked best together with assorbic acid. Tested anti-free-radical effect of hespexidin using fluorescent and compared the effect with that of assorbic acid Found that besperidin can remove free radical, and in certain concentration the larger amount of hespendiri there was, the larger amount of free radical was removed.6.
