New Chestnut Shelling Technology And Mechanical Study

In all the world people began to pick and eat chestnuts as food long ago and have been being loving them. This is because that the chestnuts are nutritious, delicious and can be used to treat ills. But to shell chestnuts is the main problem that trouble people all alone. In China, a country rich in chestnuts, the problem is more serious and blocks the production of chestnuts. So the shelling machine of chestnuts has been the important project that is being researched.The paper firstly in the round investigated the techniques and methods of shelling chestnuts in the world, and compares and analyzes their features. Then on the basis of analyze we designed and developed the new process flow and the new chestnut-shelling machine that suit our country better.In the new process flow of shelling chestnuts the desiccation of chestnuts is before the shelling to make the shelling better and more effective. And we solved the browning problem during the chestnut drying process by experiments of drying chestnuts in different temperature-time conditions. At last in order to grant the demand of drying chestnuts we improved the design of traditional dryers.The design of shelling machines is the key in the paper. Based on the analysis of the former designs we developed and optimized the new chestnut-shelling machine. Then the mechanical model was established to validate the shelling process. All of the analysis and conclusion was last proved to accord to the results of the shelling experiments that we did.
