Semi-Solid Metal Processing is developed highly in recent years because of its many peculiar advantages. But due to the complex of the study,the fundamental understanding of the particle formation and the relation between the morphology selection and the rheology is very poor.At the same time,ZA27 alloy is one of the hot spots in metal material science field because: 1 .Zinc alloy is more economical relative to Cu alloy and Al alloy.2.ZA27 alloy shows good mechanical properties and working properties. Small coefficient of friction and large sticking force to oil can substitute ZA27 alloy for Bronze alloy.Its synthetic properties are very excellent.Author applied Semi-Solid Casting technology to ZA27 alloy in this article in order to abtain ideal semi-solid slurry of ZA27 alloy and get more information about the semi-solid microstructure and the evolution of morphology.The main results are as follows:The main phenomena of the primary dendrite are of dendrite fracture,spheroidiziation and agglomeration of the particles by heat preservation electro-magnetic stirring.Primary phase involves into near-spherical fine particles by constant electro-magnetic stirring.lt is also found that controlling the distribution of primary phase in ZA27 semi-solid slurry is mainly influenced by the stirring time and intensity. The tensile and elongation of ZA27 alloy is developed highly than it made by custom method.
