There are kinds of heavy metal ions wastewater treatment technologies, but the research on modified natural macromdecule as a kind of heavy metal ions wastewater agent receives particular care from people. We prepared ampholytic cellulose with cotton fiber as primary material. In this paper some influence factors relative to two preparation methods were investigated and the product adsorbability to Cr2O72-, Mn2+, Cu2+ was studied. The experiment showed that the product was ampholytic material of betaine type and the product could adsorb heavy metal anion and cation. At the same time epoxidation was improved a bit in the course of preparation and epoxy value was two times higher than that being reported. We also prepared ampholytic cellulose with pomelo fiber as primary material, adopting the preparation condition of cotton fiber as primary material. The experimeat showed that because of pomelo fiber poor crystallinity, the product functional group content was higher than ampholytic cotton fiber, the product could get rid of Cr2O72-, Mn2+ in electrolysis Mn wastewater, and the treatment agent could be repeated use. The result can reduce wastes and treat heavy metal ions wastewater if it be used in the process of pomelo compositive utilization.
