Electro biotechnology as an environment-friendly technology shows potential values in the field of environment pollution treatment. It is necessary to carry out extensive research theoretically and practically.Novel coupling technics of electro-catalytic and immobilized microorganisms is initially put forward and utilized to deal with difficult biodegradation organic matters such as phenol as while as an invention of bio-electro fixed-bed reaction tower is used to purifing metal-laden organic wastewaters in this article. The main content in this article are as follows:TEM and SEM Analyses of functional microbial cells show that: after acclimation by heavy metals or non-degradation organic substances, small sorts of mixed microbial are survived, and adaptable individuals are increased obviously. Moreover, their microstructure and morphological characteristics are changed greatly. We study the influences factors such as initial concentration, voltage, pH vaule and proportion between liquid and solid toward phenol degradation process in electro-catalytic method, immobilized microorganisms method and their coupling technics. As a result, we find zero grade kinetics rule are the same with degradation process of the three reaction methods. The degradation efficiency of coupling technics is almost the summation of the two single methods in unit reaction time. It means that the restraining action between electro-catalytic and immobilized microorganisms method could be ignored. So could we know the coupling technics is a kind of high efficiency method. There is a same kind of main degradation product named 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-benzoquinone accumulated in the three technics. This characteristic degradation product has not been reported by any other correlative literatures about electro-catalytic and immobilized microorganisms technics. In bio-electro fixed-bed reaction tower, we use pottery ball and three-dimensional electrode material as biofilm carriers to purifing metal-laden organic wastewaters respectively. The influences factors to metal ions adsorption process such as initial concentration, voltage, pH vaule and adsorption time were studied. A 2-D model of metal ions transfer and biofilm adsorption under direct-current electric field is established and tested with the experimental results. The model calculation results act in accord with the experiment data.Competitive adsorption occurred between hard metal ions and soft metal ions isstudied by our group initially. It shows that the competitive adsorption process accord with Freundlich duality adsorption equation, and competitive adsorption phenomenon appeared obviously between congeneric metal ions while it is not so noticeable between different kinds of metal ions. Bio-adsorption effect to soft metal ions is excelled the adsorption to hard metal ions.
