The unique properties of ZnO powder with diameter in l~100nm and its many potential useful value were clarified in this paper. Various methods for preparing nanometer ZnO were discussed.In this paper, the superfine precursor Zn(OH)2 was synthesized in the Rotated packed Bed by raw material of Zn(NO3)2 solution and NH3 . The superfine ZnO was obtained when the superfine Zn(OH)2was decomposed in high temperature . The obtained samples were detected by XRD and TEM.. The results show that the ZnO particles is 20~80nm in size.The effect of operation parameters, such as rotation speed, the concentration of Zn(NO3) 2, The ratio of gas and liquid flow, on the mean size of ZnO particle was investigated experimentally. The optimum conditions for preparing nanometer ZnO was determined.
