Plants can produce million of tons of cellulose by photosynthesis. For cellulose's nonpoisonous, easy obtainable, biodegradable and friendly for environments, exploiting cellulose products has been a hot spot of science research. In nature much cellulose is contented in the by-products of agriculture such as rice husk, wheat straw etc, it has been combusted for no use in recent years, this not only wastes the resources but pollutes the environments as well.For the full utilization of resources and less environment pollution, we use the by-products of agriculture such as rice husk, wheat straw as the material to prepare strong cation exchangers .these strong cation exchangers can be used in heavy metal ion absorption and waste water treatment, all these strong cation exchangers show a good effect. All of our works can be divided into three parts:1 Strong cation exchanger 2-hydroxy-3-sulfpropyl-cellulose Na salt(HSPC) is prepared by reacting pichlorohydrin crosslinked cellulose with ClCH2CH(OH)CH2SO3Na. The influent factors are studied by ortho-experiment. The optimum preparing condition is selected and different ways of preparation are compared. The exchange capacity of HSPC prepared under the optimum condition is 0.510mmol.- g-1. The Cu2+ absorption capacity of HSPC is detected2 Strong cation-exchanger cellulose sodium sulfate (CS) was prepared by the reaction of crosslinked rice husk cellulose with H2SO4 .The effect of reacting condition to the preparation is discussed. The exchange capacity of CS prepared under the optimum condition is 2.8~3.2mmol g-1. The heavy metal ion absorption of CS is studied. The exchanger with exchange capacity of 3.0mmol/g showed an absorptive capacity of 84 mg/gx 180mg/g and 394mg/g for Cu2+, Ag+, Pb2+ respectively. The exchanger is also used in treating waste water of certain factory and a good effect is obtained.3 Water-soluble CS is prepared by reacting wheat straw cellulose with HjSO4 first, then used as the material to prepare spherical cellulose. The preparing condition is discussed.Our studies provide a feasible way for the utilization of rejectamenta of agricultures and reducing pollution, also provide a kind of cheap absorbent for treating wastewater.
