This paper firstly makes an systematic analysis on the principles and the procedures of acrylonitrile process with the theory of thermal energy systems engineering and the technology of heat exchanging network synthesis. Based on this analysis, the paper points out the crux of energy consumption, and proposes a retrofit project accordingly. Some new technologies and new equipments are employed to-carry out the retrofit of the acrylonitrile plants, which largely reduce the energy consumption. Then, the paper focuses on the total-site energy consumption analysis of the acrylonitrile producing process, and puts forward several practically available energy conservation projects. These projects are implemented in the retrofit programs, which make the energy utilization procedures more rational and achieve the effect of one-type-of energy for several uses. Thirdly, in order to solve the problem that the fire-tube heat steam generator of waste water incinerator can not operate because of the blocking up by scale, infrared spectrum analysis of waste water and scale as well as analysis of the combustion reaction mechanism are carried out, which help to find out the real reason in the end. At the same time, several retrofit projects for the existing waste water incinerator and waste heat steam generator are proposed, among which the best scheme is selected. In addition, technical and economic analysis of the project is carried out, by which the benefit of the designed project is evaluated from the view of energy consumption and commercial efficiency.Furthermore, a deep research on the operating conditions, structure parameters and activators of the industrial acrylonitrile fiuidized bed reactor in Qilu Acrylonitrile Factory have been carried out, and then a mathematic model based on present operating conditions and state of the reactor is developed. In order to enable the model to describe the operating characteristics under new conditions, the on-spot operating datum in case of different conditions and activators are collected and used to identify the parameters of the model. Using the modified model, the paper makes a research on the laws of how the changing of operating parameters of the reactor influence on its characteristics, and brings forward some possible reasons which cause the abnormal operating of the reactor since the retrofit had been completed. In the end, some corresponding proposes and measures available in practice are laid out.
