Inorganic fire-retardant has no halogen, excellent heat-resistance property. It is physiological innocuity material, amity to environment, and the most importance is no second pollution when burning that means no emission noxious and causticity gas. So inorganic fire-retardant become the hot study in fir-retardant field. We must adopt new technology, miniaturization and surface modification, etc., to improve flame retardation effect of inorganic fire-retardant for it's effect not so good.As a sort of inorganic fire-retardant, Zinc Borate is excellent fire-retardant in plastics, latex, chemical architecture material and other organic macromolecule compound material. It has virtues of thermal stability, detailed control degree, lowly specific gravity, good dispersion, innocuity and be used in production of jacket of cable plastics, electric plastics, flame retardation dope. The study of preparation of lowly hydrated Zinc Borate (ZB2335) and it's surface modification, miniaturization, micro-encapulated, etc. become a hot study in flame retardation field.The paper's emphasis is introduce ZB2335 that preparation through using boracic acid, borax and zinc sulfate. In the method, expenditure of operation is compared to low, mother liquid being cycle, no three wastes being let, obtaining by produce NaHSC>4 and accord with environment protect. The significant factor which affects the reaction production are ascertained in four factor: proportion of material, liquid-solid ratio, reaction temperature, reaction time. The optimum reaction conditions by orthogonal experiment are as fallows: The moles proportion of material is 1:0.65 (the former is zinc sulfate and the later is borax and boracic acid), temperature is 95 癈, reaction time is 4h. in this conditions, we take waste residue zinc ash of zinc factory as material prepared ZB2335 and result shows it is feasible. In the method material cost is fall, full utilizing industry flotsam, making flotsam into usefulness substance accord with environment, requires and it inaugurate a new route that utilize industry solid flotsam with reason.Hydrothermal method prepared Zinc Borate micro powder is also studied in this paper. Hydrothermal method is one is one of ways to prepare but no Zinc Borate micro-powder and of be report preparation oxid powder, but no Zinc Borate micro-powder. In hydrothermal conditions, the experimentation take zinc sulfate, borax, boracic acid as material and moles proportion of material is l:0.65(the former is Zinc sulfate and the later is solid reactant) liquid-solid moles ration is 6.5:1 (the former is water and the later is solid reactant),temperature is 140-160"C, pressure is 0.3~0.5MPa and obtain ultrafine Zinc Borate.
