As China has the oldest and longest history, its traditional culture is colorful. During the period of history, our diligent people have created various culture. China has made great achievements in furniture designing, especially in Ming and Qing dynasty. The furniture decoration of each dynasty is not always the same, each has their unique style, of course including sculpture decoration. Sculpture decoration has been widely used in Chinese classic furniture. And the picture is full of creation and imagination, and the skill is perfect. In Ming dynasty, the design is strived for conciseness, being natural and decoration while against copying tradition. But in Qing dynasty, the furniture is too much decoration. Summarizing our past experiences will help to develop "Chinese style" furniture of our age and to make it glorious all over the world.Facing so many challenges and difficulties,the development of Chinese furniture industry should be faster. The Chinese furniture industry couldn't develop unless depends on traditional culture of China in the times of today, use for reference from the modern design means and constitute method of the west. With the entrance in WTO of China, the industry of Chinese furniture is confronted with an intense challenge. To occupy more market place in the world furniture market, we should establish our own product style and go our way.In the paper there are some researching about craft skill,shape characteristic, the standpoint on humanism and value ?On the base of it, I bring forward some viewpoint on how to use the sculpture in the interior decoration, and how to inherit and develop the tradition into the contemporary's design of Chinese furniture.
