Many faults in castings are tightly associated with the solidification process of the liquid metal. The solidification simulation by computer has gained a great development in recent years, it can correctly describe the complex change process and show us the temperature and liquid to solid change during the solid process and predict the faults maybe happen. The paper concern with the pre-and subsequent process technology of the simulation and programmed a application for it.Common Numerical solidification simulation software has not include a sculpt function. So, the interface between the output datum of the third party software used to sculpt and the application itself is the issue must be overcome firstly. The paper particularly study the output STL document format of the sculpt software, designed the method for transform them to the own datum format of the application and programmed the corresponding interface program, realize the directly connect to the sculpt software.The target datum of simulation can correctly represent the casting process. But, these datum has a common character that they are very large. The user can not achieve useful information from these nonfigurative, large amount of datum directly. The task of subsequent process is to change these datum to computer graphics, provide a convenience instrument for the user to analyze the target datum.The paper deal with the target datum by the Volume Visualization, Part of the Scientific Visualization. Thepaper studied the origin and evolution of the Scientific Visualization, we process the mass datum form simulation according to the traditional method of Scientific Visualization ,change the large amount, bald target datum to brilliance, visible graphics.Based on the knowledge of computer graphics, we designed the unique flow and arithmetic suit to the simulation datum according to the perpendicular grid cell used in the simulation. Enhance the speed of the computer in process graphics by upgrade the projection matrix and Visible-surface detection, and let the graphics achieved show the problem that user care most.The application is program by the Object-Orient Visual langue VC++ 6.0 of Microsoft. By alternation method such as dialog box , the user can full control the process, have false intervene to the graphic generation and property mapping , this make the achieve result mostly satisfy the user's requirement...
