The quality of large-scale forging and casting connects with quality of ingot closely . It is necessary to control the solidification process to obtain the high quality ingot. in the paper , the large forge and casting ingots of China Erzhong Group Co. are taken as the subjects to research the numerical simaulation of cast ingot solidification process , in prder to independent explore an extensile casting simulation system.According to the total request and farsight plan of the system , the system are designed and explored by independent. Firstly , the CAD models are deigned in terms of the normal and abnormal geometrical dimension;Secondly , the dispersing of time and space is recalized in a guiding way which means gridding division and time step setting . The setting of material thermal parameter can be divided two parts . One is saved in database according to normal temperature thermal parameters , and another is dealt with by fonctionelle mathematics in order to make the thermal parameters reach a high precision of "dynamic thermal parameter" . The simulation time is mainly contrapose the simulation processing whether the ingot is absolute solidificated or not. The data or dealt with finite difference calculus in calculate center . The result of simulation process is professionally expanded in final treatment, and the temperature pattern os respectively visualized , selected data from different time and space , forecasted the shrinkage porosity and shrinkage void , microscopical segration and the time of absolute solidification and so on . Microsoft Visual C++6.0 is used to independent accomplish the design of arithmetic , configuration and interphase in the whole exploration process . the database is the Access .The graphic table of simulation result can be real-time showed for designers .In conclusion , the reseatch of this paper is studying emphasis and inevitalbe trend in the lab of solidification field . The simulation method is applied to analyze the temperature change of large scale ingot and casting ingot mould , overcast the disfigurement of ingot solidification process and microscopical segrogation , designthe casting ingot mould and supply the science basis and so on . At the same time , it is proved that the study has certain application value for practical manufacture .
