Aluminum matrix composites reinforced with different volume fraction of SiC particles were manufactured by semi-solid casting in this thesis. And the microstructure, the hardness and the wear resistance properties of the composites fabricated by semi-solid casting had been studied and analyzed. The results showed that SiC particles dispersed uniformly in the composites, that the composites' hardness increased with the increasing volume fraction of SiC particles, and that the composites had the outstanding wear resistance properties that were superior to the matrix alloy.In order to apply die-casting into particulates reinforced aluminum matrix composites, which would make this kind of material used more and more widely, the shaping properties of the composites in semi-solid were studied and complicated parts were die-cast with the composites in this paper. And the microstructure, the hardness and the wear resistance properties of complicated parts had also been studied and analyzed. The results showed that under the same experiment condition, the semi-solid flow and deformation properties of the composites increased with the increasing of the SiC particles' volume fraction which below 12%, that he composite reinforced with different volume fraction of SiC particles were die-cast into complicated parts successfully, that SiC particles dispersed even more uniformly in their complicated parts, and that he complicated parts' hardness was better than the composites'. The results also showed that the wear resistance properties of the complicated parts die-cast of the composites were superior to the composites.
