Compared with the properties of silane grafting products, Maleic Anhydride(MAH) was dealt with melt grafting on Polypropylene (PP) in a twin-screw extruder. The effects of added amount of DCP, the ratio of MAH/DCP, and extrusion conditions on grafting ratio and melt viscosity of products were investigated. Then the compatibilizers were prepared by grafting MAH on PP, and they were used in blending modification as the materials of fascia. The role of compatibilizers in polymer blends was investigated by measuring the mechanical strength and observing the morphologe of the blends. The blends with kinds of uncompatible polymer could form fine dispersed phase when the compatibilizers were used. The impact strength of the alloy was improved obviously and the tensile strength increased when the compatibilizers were used. The content of the compatibilizers had great effect on the property of the alloy. The mechanical properties of the alloy were the best when the content was 8%. They have reached the technical standard of fascia.
