Nanometer Mesoporous Titania Powders were prepared in the presence of glycerin under hydrothermal conditions and sol-gel method respectively, and charaterized by XRD, BET,TEM,etc. The effects of the synthesis conditions, reaction mechanism and photocatalysis ability of the material were discussed. The crystalline size of the anatase samples was quite uniform. The pore structure among particles, whose shape was open-ended tubular pores, is mesoporous texture .The surface areas achieved are considerably high, up to 286cm3/g.In the sol-gel method, too much acid will induce the formation of rutile while too little acid can not catalyze the hydrolysis of Ti (G4H9O)4 .The sizes of particles increase with the growth of glycerin. The samples can not be anatase without cacination or extraction. In the hydrothermal process.the reaction time does no effect, but the ratio of acohol/water influence the results greatly. The sizes of particles change little when the amount of glycerin reaches a certain value. The samples from both two method began to transfer to rutile when the temperature reaches 500C .The samples doped by Fe3+ have better thermal stability but much smaller surface area.
