Conductive ATO (Antimony Doped Tin Oxide) powder in the size of nanometer was prepared by a chemical coprecipitation method using SnCl45H2O and SbCl3 as starting materials. The influences pf coprecipitation temperature, doping Antimony content, the type of dispersant, terminal pH value and heat treatment temperature on the particle size and powder resistance were discussed. The characteristics of the powder were investigated by DTA-TG, XRD and SEM.By viscosity measurement and sedimentation experiment, the influences of those parameters such as the dispersion medium, method of dispersion, the type of dispersant, pH value and temperature on the preparation of ATO slurry were discussed. The influencing factors can be optimized, and thus ATO slurry with good dispersability and stability can be finally obtained. The new technology is simple with little contamination and low cost. The product has high quality, and can take place of the imported product.
