A review has been made systematically in the field of microcapsules techniques, especially in the current situation and the applied prospect of the research on microcapsule pigment. The microcapsule techniques applied in the field of pigment, which is to improve the performances of pigment have been introduced The character and method of capsulation Light Fast Yellow G have been presented. The conditions and the influence factors of the methods of capsuled Light Fast Yellow G with UF, MF and PVP have been discussed, the suitable experimentation conditions have been found.Light Fast Yellow G was capsulated with MF by in-stiu polymerization method. The capsulated conditions were as follows: at first, formaldehyde was reacted with melamine with the molar ratio of 1:2.2 to yield melamine- formaldehyde precondensate at a pH of 8.5 and temperature of 70, then it was added to the solution of pigment with the weight ratio of 30%, The concentration of dispersant was controlled to about 3%, and the pH was adjusted to about 5.5, after reacted for 2h,the product was filtered and dried. The interfacial polymerization method was used to capsulated the pigment as well. In this method, PVP was used as film materials and NaSO4 as separator and added by 20ml/min; the film material was about 15% of the total microcapsule; the concentration of dispersant was controlled to about 2.5%. So the good microcapsule was gained and their average particle sizes were smaller than 4 m.We used UF as film material to capsulate the pigment also by in-stiu polymerization. In this process ,at first we use NH4C1 as the catalyzer which was added in batches, the acidification time was 4h and pH was 1.5 in the end, the solidify temperature was 70 and the solidify time was 2h. so the good microcapsule was gained and it's average particle size was smaller than 5 m.To characterize the apparent performances, the Particle Size Distribution, SEM and FTIR have been introduced. The per cent ofmicrocapsule whose particle size was smaller than 10 ?m were over 95%, and the distributing rang was well centralized; The condition of microcapsule film indicated by SEM was all right, showing that the thickness was between 0.5?m and 1 祄, the surface of microcapsule was lubricity and their shapes were spheroid; FTIR also have indicated that there was no reaction between the material of microcapsule and the core of microcapsule, therefore the structure of Light Fast Yellow G have not been changed after microencapsulated. The thermal stabilizer of Light Fast Yellow G were enhanced obviously after microencapsulated, especially when the material of microcapsule was MF it has been enhanced by 35癈. Meanwhile the anti-transfer property was well improved, therefore the application of Light Fast Yellow G has been extended. The properties such as dispersed performance and oil suck also have been improved obviously after microencapsulated.
