Flos, lonicera is a Chinese traditional medicine, which have several benefits to humans, including antipyretic, antibacterial and detoxification function. In the article, the extraction progress of chlorogenic acid, the preparation technology of granule and the mechanism of fluidized-bed spray granulator were studied.In the study, water cooking, ethanol precipitation, enzymatic treatment and extract of honeysuckle were investigated in detail. Ion exchange and column chromatography were applied to purify the extract. The content of effective component can be enriched to 55%. Fluidized-bed spray granulator were used to product honeysuckle granule. Finally the optimum process parameter were determined as follows: relative density of extract 1.13, ratio of extract over assistant 3:1, soluble starch and dextrin used as assistant (ratio of soluble starch /dextrin is 1:1), air feed temperature 80 C, air feed quantity 4m/min, spray speed 15ml/min. During experiment, it was found that the particle growth model in the granulator is agglomeration and wet quenching is a major reason caused fluidization failure. At the same time, according to the Chinese pharmacopoeia, we established a scientific standard, including property describing of granule, methods of identification of chlorogenic acid and flavonoids (TLC, HPLC and colorimetry), as well as stability experiment. Results showed that products were qualified for standard in granularity, solubility and effective components content.
