Systems that consist of a combination of continuous and discrete features are called hybrid systems. The continuous dynamic system and discrete event-driven system contact with each other and affect each other. There are a lot of hybrid processes in the chemistry, food industry, metallurgy areas. Based on food production process, this paper analyses the method to model a hybrid system and mainly discusses the use of the hybrid petri net to model and simulate the food industry.According to the different functions, the author introduces the hierarchical modeling idea to model different hierarchies and objects using different methods. First mentions the DE-HPN (Differential equation and hybrid petri nets) method to model the continuous variables and discrete events. Then uses the GA (Genetic Algorithm) method to optimize scheduling. Combining with the two methods, the GA-HPetri Net method is built. Later the author uses this method to do the modeling and simulation research on the food industry. The study shows that the method of using hybrid petri net provides a new area to model a hybrid system. It has the general property in the food industry and has a wide prospect in the future.
