In this thesis, the study on analytical functions of organic reagents was summarized. The up-to-date category and application of triazene group chromogenic reagents were summed up. Synthesis and application of heterocyclic triazene reagents become hotspot-researching direction because of high sensitivity and selectivity in determining some heavy metal ions. Several synthetic routes of new pattern heterocyclic triazene reagents were studied. The synthetic method of diazo-reaction and coincidence-reaction was adopted.It was reported that synthesis and characteristics of two new chromogenic reagents: 1-(5-nitro-2-pyridyl)-3-(azobenzene-4-sulfonic acid)-triazene (NPABST) and l-azobenzen-3-(3-nitro-2-pyridyl)-triazene (ABNPT). The selection of matieral and the synthetic route were discussed. The effection on synthesis of the two reagents was reviewed in detail. The effect of conjugate system and substituted group on the selectivity and sensitivity of the complexes was investigated.In this paper, the spectrophotometric application of NPABST and ABNPT was investigated in detail. In the presence of non-ionic surfacetant Tween-80 and Na2B4O7-NaOH at the range of pH 10.4~11.8, NPABST formed a stable red complex with Cadmium(II) with the molar ratio of 1:3. The maximum absorption wavelength of the complex is at 525nm and the molar absorptivity is 1.8 ×105L · mol-1 · cm-1. In the presence of non-ionic surfacetant TritonX-100 and Na2B4O7-NaOH at the range of pH 10.8—11.6, ABNPT formed a stable amaranth complex with Nickel( II) with the molar ratio of 1:3. The maximum absorption wavelength of the complex is at 535nm and the molar absorptivity is 1.6 × 105L · mol-1 · cm-1, which is most sensitive colour reaction on determining Nickel (II) of heterocyclic triazene reagents presently.The new heterocyclic triazene reagents can be applied in determine some heavy metal ions such as Cadmium of industric wastewater, environmental water sample and Nickel of core sample with satisfactory results, which has better application background and society benefit.
