The process of UHMW-PE (solid conveying, melting and melt conveying) was scientifically analyzed and summarized based on experiments with UHMW-PE single screw extruder. The model for solid conveying in grooved feed section, the key part of UHM-WE extruder, was established. In the guidance of UHMW-PE Extruding, the theory of flame retardant (FR) polymer composition and the theory of antistatic polymer composition, some research and experiments on flame retardant and antistatic UHMW-PE were studied. It was found that the cardinal method for UHMW-PE flame retardant modification is low filler and high efficient, that is, using compounded FR: halogenated FR and inorganic FR, which could result in the good flame retardant property. The properties and content of carbon black are the most important factors in preparing antistatic UHMW-PE composition. A kind of surface active agents is effective in improving the properties of the composition. Flowing modification agent of UHMW-PE could help to improve the distribution of modification agents.The innovation of this article is: (1)UHMW-PE composition filled with FR and CB could be extruded in single screw extruder; (2) application of compounded technology of FR to UHMW-PE; (3)the process of UHMW-PE extruding wasscientifically analyzed and summarized and the model for solid conveying in grooved feed section was established.
