In this paper, the synthesis process of soluble solid scale inhibitor and the scale inhibition ability of synthetic product in CaCO3 and CaSO4 scaling system are discussed.The low relative molecular weight polymer was prepared by copolymerization in aqueous solution using acrylate as major raw material and Na2S2O8-Na2SO3 redox initiation system. The product is used as scale inhibitor. The effects of monomer concentration, mole ratio of monomers, the amount of Na2S2O8 and Na2SO3, reaction temperature on the relative molecular weight are studied and the optimum reaction are determined. Finally, the molecular structure of synthetic product is in accordance with the molecular design according to infrared absorption spectroscopy.The scale inhibition ability of synthetic product is investigated in CaCO3 and CaSO4 scaling system. The results show that: the scale inhibitor's scale control efficiency to CaSO4 is better than its ability to CaCO3 ;The lower the molecular weight, the higher the scale control efficiency ;While the quantity of scale inhibitor increases, the scale control efficiency increases; While the scaling ionic concentration, the temperature increases, the PH value increase and prolonging the scaling time, the scale control efficiency drops.
