The paper analysis the influence factors of spontaneous combustion in coal working face of underground coalmines and build a model to evaluate the risk of spontaneous combustion for coal working face. The model regards the face as the basic unit and divides it into two parts, the gob and tunnel, and then set up object-oriented model with structure in multiple hierarchical to evaluate the risk. The model which this paper put forwards can be program easily and which can work as a part of safety expert system for coalmines. The method provides scientific basis for the fireproof and safety administration and it can be used for advancing safety evaluation and present safety situation evaluation of coal mining working face. The model divides the risk of spontaneous combustion into two parts, theprobability and the severity. It uses the Fuzzy Logic method in building thefunctions of subordination for factors. And it uses the AHP and the experts'advices to build the weight of factors. Then it uses the method of weightsummation to get the evaluate result of multiple hierarchical factors. And ituse maximum subordination principle to define the risk gradations accordingto the intermediate results and final results. And it grades the risk into fourfuzzy gradations, which are safe, ordinary, danger and most danger. The paper selected 10 sample faces which have different features and havebeen finished minning, then evaluate the risk in the faces with the evaluateprogram write with Matlab to test the model. The paper also uses test methodto get the weight of the probability and the severity. After the method isfinished, the paper evaluated the risk of spontaneous combustion in theexperimental face. It is approved that there is good consistence between theevaluate results and the real situation of spontaneous combustion in theexperimental face.
