Coal mine accidents are apt to happen in coal working face. Roof accidents, flooding accidents, coal-selfignition accidents, gas explosion accidents, coal dust explosion accidents and occupational diseases take a high proportion in coal working face. So, studying on risk assessment in coal working face becomes the problem that coal mine safety management urgently need to solved.First of all, this paper analyzes the current development and safety situation in china coal industry, then illustrates the significance and basic content of the hazard risk assessment in coal working face, and briefly introduced the research status on risk assessment at home and abroad. From the angle of the three types of hazard theory, the paper analyzed the origin of six kinds of accidents(coal-selfignition accidents, roof accidents, gas explosion accidents, coal dust explosion accidents,flooding accidents and occupational diseases)by combining the hazard theory with six kinds of accidents often happen in coal working face.Secondly, According to the occurrence law of six kinds of accidents in coal working face and assessment index system, starting with the analysis of the various accidents causes and its influence factors in coal working face, this paper made a comparative analysis on the different influence factors of accidents, and identified the representative indices, then setted up the risk assessment index system on hazards in coal working face by combining with the experts'experiences. In the end, the indicators can be made by using expert qusetionaire method and analytic hierachy process. This paper researched the hazards on risk assessment for the six kinds of accidents which often happen in coal working face using the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.In the application, the paper worked out a safety checklist depending on some interrelated technical standards and regulations on mine and determined the membership degree of each index through expert estimation for safety checklist on the spot. The procedure of the hazard risk assessment system in coal working face was compiled with the VB, which realized the visible operation of safety assessment and predigested the calculation work of risk assessment. Finally, an application example is given to assess S201 coal working face in some coal mine, and draw the conclusion that the coal working face is in the comparative safety level.
