Polysaccharides are-the richest biologic polymer in the nature, and exist wildly in the organs of animals, plants and microorganisms. In addition to act as framework of tissues, in the cause of lives polysaccharide play an very important role because of it is an essential component of a variety of functional molecule. In view of the extensive application at biology, food, and medication, the research and exploitation of polysaccharide have turn into been a brightness in the fields of natural medicament chemistry, biochemistry and pharmaceutics engineering. The x1 polysaccharide which extracted from some foliage has a lot of key physiologic activity such as strengthen immunity, resist caducity and promote apoptosis of tumor cell. In order to make good use of this plant polysaccharide, in this article we make comprehensive research to xl polysaccharide such as rational extracting technics, physic-chemical characteristics analysis, moleculear modification and anti-HIV activity of products of molecule modification.(1) Through comprehensive research of the influence of four main technologic factors to the yield of xl polysaccharide, the rational technology condition was obtained as follow: the whole extracting process flowing two step; at first 100 grams xl powder was soaked with 2000ml water(weight of material .' weight of water = 1 : 20), then extracted at temperature of 100°C for four hours; the residue after filtration soaked with 500ml water, then extracted at temperature of 100°C for half an hour, and the yield was up to 8.55%. Through Sevage de-protein twice, the protein of xl polysaccharide reduced to 0.53%.(2) Through lots of chemic method and instrument analysis, we study characteristics of xl polysaccharide. The results indicate: xl polysaccharide is an neutral polysaccharide composed by pyranyl monosaccharide, and molecular weight is 4 X.104 Da; xl polysaccharide is composed of four monosaccharide that is glucose, xylose, arabinose and galactose, and the proportion of four monosaccharide is 1 : 1.14 : 1.09 : 1.46; xl polysaecharide has three types of polysaccharide bond that is 1→6 (or non deoxidized terminal), 1→4 and 1→3, and the proportion is0.5 : 0.25 : 0.25.(3)By means of response orthogonal test and statistic software STATGRAPHICSplus 5.1, the molecule modification of xl polysaccharide was studied and theinfluence of three factors to the sulphur content of product was made clear, andthe mathematical model has been established as well.(4) With a cell(C8166) cyto-active experiment, the high anti-HIV-lUIB activity ofproducts of molecule modification was confirmed. The anti-HIV activity ofproducts relate to their sulphur content. The experiment results show that theactivity of products reach highest(EC5o=0. 629Hg/ml) when their DS are between 1to 2, at the same time their toxiciry to cell is low(CC5o=8777Hg/ml) andTI(Therapeutic index) is up to 13000.
