In this paper, The preparation techniques and partial performances of different crystal shapes' ultra fine RDX was studied.In the ultra fine RDX preparation, many techniques was adopted in our experiment, such as solvent-anti solvent method, mechanism milling method and the spray drying method. The influence of many complications on the size of RDX was studied amply in each method.Furthermore, we adopted emulsion/ micro emulsion method to prepare ultra fine RDX. On base of the well condition controlling, many unique crystal shapes' ultra fine RDX was prepared. The relationship between the unique crystal shapes and the preparing conditions was discussed.The impact sensitivity of different crystal shapes' ultra fine RDX was tested, The impact sensitivity of cubical ultra fine RDX was reduced most.The result of DSC of the ultra fine RDX and the ordinary RDX suggest that the melting point of ultra fine RDX reduced. IN the SEM, bladder was found on the surface of biggish, while the surface of less RDX grain didn't appear bladder, analysis indicate that the finer RDX have the more better diathermancy.Combustion experiment was processed in the combustion pot, and the Combustion curve of time- pressure was tested. The co-volume, impetus, combustion velocity coefficient and pressure exponent were obtained through these combustion t~ p curve. The experiment results that combustion velocities of cubical and big spherical ultra fine RDX were greater than others, while the combustion velocity of small spherical ultra fine RDX was least. The t~ p curve, referenced time tgo, combustion velocity coefficient and pressure exponent behave congruously. Analysis indicates that it is the piling state who determined the combustion velocity.
