HMX(octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetraz-ocine),currently used a military explosive,HMX is known to be an explosive of great power,high detonation performance and good thermal stability.Widely application in weapons, ammunition and rocket propellants. In the discovery of explosives insensitive research, the small size of the HMX has a very good effect, this paper studied the preparation of superfine HMX powder by stir mill, explore the factors including ball mill time, ball mill media, the ratio of milling ball to powder,pulp density media/material ratio and rotary velocity eta.On that basis, the effeet of the method of altering the rotational speed was explored.And HMX product after grinding XRD, SEM, TEM characterization and particle size measurement,The main results are showed as follows:(1)The optimum conditions are formulated solution of1as the medium, control the slurry concentration at10%,the ratio of milling ball to powder90(mass ratio),rotary velocity1000rpm/min, the grinding for3hours;(2)Polishing starting speed positioning1200,way deceleration milling, hour reduced to200revolutions, and stops after3hours, this shift milling improve grinding efficiency;(3)The HMX samples were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM)、 Transmission electron microscope(TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that the phase of superfine HMX was not changed obviously, and the surface of superfine HMX was spherical;(4)Polishing adding dispersant can significantly improve the grinding effect,dispersant3is best;(5)Mechanical Sensitivity of HMX before and after grinding, thermal decomposition characteristics of test, The results showed that with decreasing of average Particle sizes the impact sensitivity of HMX increases, the friction sensitivity decreases, and exothermic peak move ahead1℃as the particle size (d50) decrease.
