The preparation of cationic waterborne ultra-fine cationic pigment is a develop trend of ultra-fine pigment. This dissertation is focus on the preparation of cationic waterborne pigment which is prepared by micro-jet, and also emphasizes on the effects of different hydrophobic function groups of dispersants thus providing some basic knowledge for preparing new type cationic ultra-fine pigment.Based on some papers concerned, the method of micro-jet was selected in the process of preparation of cationic ultra-fine pigment. Result show that the better pressure was 23000psi and time was 30 minutes.Effects, consisted of different hydrophobic function group of dispersants affect the ultra-fine pigment, was studied in this dissertation. The result shows that particle size could reach 200nm, Zeta potential is as high as 50mv, and centrifugal stability is near 80%. This dissertation also investigated the relationship between influence factors and cationic ultra-fine pigment in terms of pH value, temperature, time, and amount of electrolyte. When dispersant's hydrophobic chain is near 16~18, ultra-fine pigment performs well pH value, temperature, time, and amount of electrolyte. The relationship of HLB value of dispersant and the performance of ultra-fine pigment was further studied in this dissertation. It also refers to the relationship between different color value and dispersant function group. When HLB value is 14, the centrifugal stability of ultra-fine pigment performs well. In addition, Cationic ultra-fine pigment can demonstrate higher color depth, more brilliant and purer color than non ultra-fine pigment.
