Optimization, Of Tai'an City Medical Waste Characteristics And Management System

In this paper, the studies on the content of ash, moisture, volatilization, carbon and heat value with measurement and analysis ,and lab research used of medical wastes . Then discuss the combustion characteristic. The research shows that medical wastes have high content of volatilization and high heat value which is far higher than that of municipal solid wastes. The characteristic of high content of volatilization indicates that the wastes can be ignited easily and can combust steadily. From discussions, several points of view are concluded as follows: there are many factors which can significantiy affect yield and composition of medical waste, including beds of hospitals, ratio of beds in use, numbers of patients going to hospitals, development level of economy, citizen consumption level, medical service level and so on; the total amount of medical waste in Taian city in 2004 is 1409 tons, computing values in 2010 and 2014 are 1999 tons and 2249 tons respectively. Space distribution of medical wastes in Taian city show some characteristics like medical agencies spreading around city areas extensively and sparsely, small in quantity of medical waste generated by each medical agency etc.The management and disposal way of the medical waste in Taian city is studied with questionnaires, interview and visit. The management and disposal system of the medical waste in Taian city was gained, which include two sub-systems(hospital level system and region level system), which could be a reliable basis for the management of the medical waste in Taian city.The problem of combustion disposal of the medical waste in Taian city is studied. The investigation lays a foundation for further amelioration of medical wastes combustion technology, which has notable economic, societal and environmental benefit.
