The size of livestock production is becoming bigger and bigger in China, which leads to severe pollution issues on wastewater coming from all kinds of livestock farms. The negative influence on animal manure and effluent to groundwater, air quality and land resource was surveyed in this paper. Some conventional pig farm wastewater treatment means and technology adopted in practice in recent years were also introduced. Through compare between a lots of treatment ways, a new technique was put forward. After studying on several primary stages of the technique flow, the optimum working conditions on the system were ensured.The UASB and SBR processes were two main stages in the new treatment system. During the UASB stage, the elimination ratio of total CODcr achieved at 7585%. Before SBR stage was conducted, removing a part of free NH3-N through exposure to air made a better result be achieved. In this study, the optimum way of wastewater flowing into reactor chamber and the time of exposure to air as well as optimum time of anaerobic handle period were also assessed. At exposure process, a static stage (leaving unused) was arranged so that the phenomenon of producing too much foam in aeration process was avoided.
