The technical problem which development opening was excavated at the footwall instead of the hanging wall was discussed, and optimization of blasting parameters in the dolomite was studied according to the condition of development work of the Level 1120 m in the Yongsha Phosphorite Mine. The results of studies show that it is feasible that the development opening was excavated at the foot wall, and a well blasting effect can been achieved by using the double wedge cut. The results will play a positive role to innovate the mining methods in the Kaiyang Phosphorite Mine. It is important for improving the exploiting ability of the Yongsha Phosphorite Mine and its sustainable development. The main research contents of this thesis are as follows:(1) The optimized design of development opening for the Yongsha Phosphorite Mine was givenThe shale is very unstable in the footwall of the Yongsha Phosphorite Mine. The construction of driving is difficult and the support cost is high. It is better for excavating the development opening at the hanging wall than at the footwall in the Level 1120 m based on the safety analysis and economic technical comparisons.(2) The experimental investigation that some new blasting and cutting techniques were used in the dolomite was achieved.A set of blasting tests were carried out by using some different type of cutting techniques in the dolomite. The distribution of snubbers was discussed and studied. The results of experiments indicate that it is able to improve the availability of borehole and reduce the cost of drifting for using the new type double wedge cut technique. The results of study can give guidance to drift construction of the Level 1120 m in the Yongsha Phosphorite Mine.
