This thesis reviewed systematically the development of numerical simulation for turbulent combustion in combustion space of glass melting furnaces, and established three-dimensional mathematical model which is very practical in oil fired float glass furnaces on the base of theory of glass melting furnaces and industrial application. The model consisted of gas turbulent flows and heat transfer sub-model and spray combustion sub-model. The former includes continuity equation, momentum equation, turbulence equation and energy equation and were solved by SIMPLE scheme, the later makes use of the PSJC method.The flow field and temperature distribution of combustion space in oil fired float glass furnaces(400t'd) were studied in this paper. It was found that high-temperature zone located in 2#-51~ furnace, especially in 4# furnace. It was also found that the gas in upper zone flows more slowly and there exist two circulation current by the main current.It was concluded that the flow field and temperature distribution of combustion space could be described well by three-dimensional model which would apply widely.
