A review on the research progress of Haitong-pi in chemical constituents and pharmacological activities was presented.Experiments about Haitong-pi.The observation of the extracted term of the effective fractions of Haitong-pi Compound with the amount of the total saponins as evaluation index give the result that the best extracted term is that the drug is extracted by Q1% alcohol for three times, 6 times and two hour.Observing the absorption fraction with the amount of the total saponins of Haitong-pi Prescription as the evaluation index. On four kinds of macro absorption resins, we reach the conclusion that the A resin has the best absorptive ability on the separation and enrichment of the effective fractions from Haitong-pi Prescription and the best technology term is that the ratio of the amount of sample and volume of resins is 1:3.5, the extraction substance with 20mg/ml density passes the resin column that D/L is 1:5 with the 1ml/min absorbed speed, washed out withQ3% alcohol for 6 times of resin volume with 3ml/min eluted speed.
