Gemini is a new kind of surfactant, compares with the conventional ones, its unique molecular structure entrusts with them better surface activity.In this dissertation, we made use of diethanolamine, long-chain bromo-alkane, 1'2 ethylene bromide as the raw materials, through two steps of chemical reactions, synthesized double(diethylols-alkyl) ethylene double quaternary ammonium salt surfacant Gemini An. The infrared spectrum was used to characterize the structure of Gemini An. We carried on the appraisal to the surface properties of Gemini An, the experimental result indicated: This kind of Gemini surfactant was qualified with good surface activity. Double (dimethyl-alkyl) ethylene double quaternary ammonium salt surfactant Gemini Bn was carried on the contrast with Gemini An about surface properties, the experimental result indicated: The short side groups nearby the N atom in the molecular structure had the certain influence to the surface properties of Gemini. The synergism between Gemini An, Gemini Bn and the ordinary anion surfactant was inspected at the same time.
