Sizing process is paid much attention always. Because sizing process is a very important procedure of weaving preparation. But sizing process not only produces environmental pollution, but also produces great waste of power and materials. In addition, it wastes too much time and it is too complex to make up a sizing prescription and size mixing. It is also not easy to control sizing parameters. According to investigation, sizing process just exits as intermediary. Size would be the burden of follow-up process after weaving. If size isn't removed or even isn't removed thoroughly, it will affect the finishing effect. According to the analysis, sizing process could be replaced by simpler process or even avoided.The purpose of this thesis is to research a new eco-friendly sizing method. Use less or no PVA size, which is harm to environment, to acquire qualified sizing effect. Water-soluble fiber is used in the experiment to weave blended yarn with cotton fiber though combing, drawing, roving and spinning and so on. Three type of blending ratio yarns are acquired at last. They are C85/V15, C82/V18, and C78/V22. Some of three-type blended yams are gone though size. Some of them are just gone though hot water without any size. After that, we do some examination of these blended yams to see if they are qualified for weaving requirement. The examination indexes are resistance to attrition, hairiness, strength and elongation. Then fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is adopted in the thesis. All examination indexes are given different weight value according to actual conditions in mills. After mathematical analysis, the best case arises. It is C78/V22 blended yam. Go through the hot water directly without any size and the blended yam could be qualified for the weaving requirement. If compare experimental yam indexes with traditional sizing yam indexes, only resistance to attrition index is worse than the later. This means that it is feasible to use water-soluble fiber blended with other fiber to replace traditional sizing technology. This method not only simplifiers size mixing technology, shortens the whole sizing process time, saves person source and materials, but also saves much water, electric and steam. The research proves that it is valuable to study further.
