Three novel chemical compounds and two novel conducting polymers have been synthesized. They are 2-chloromethyl-4-hydroxyl-7-methyl-6, 7-dihydrothiopheno[2, 3-d]pyrimidine, 2-chloromethyl-4-methoxyl-7-methy 1-6, 7-dihydrothiopheno[2, 3-d]pyrimidine, bis-(4-hydroxyl-7-methyl-6, 7-dihydrothiopheno[2, 3-d]pyrimidin-2-methyl)-mythelamine, poly(2-chlorom ethyl-4-hydroxyl-7-methyl-6, 7-dihydrothiopheno[2, 3-d]pyrimidine), poly (2-chloromethyl-4-methoxyl-7-methyl-6, 7-dihydrothiopheno[2,3-d]pyrimi dineThe thermal stability and electrochemical property of poly(2-chlor omethyl-4-hydroxyl-7-methyl-6, 7-dihydrothiopheno[2, 3-d]pyrimidine) have been studied.
