Radix Drop Pills Developed

Astragaloside is the active component which extracted from Radix Astragali. According to the moden pharmacological study, astragaloside has shown the effective protective effect on cardiovascular system. Such as positive inotropic activity , the effects on myocardial electrical activity, etc.. Dropping pill, as the moden and new preparation of Chinese medicines is the hot spot of the study on Chinese traditional medicine preparation. However, the impurities removed drug substance is fit for the preparation of dropping pill. Making astragaloside into dropping pills could achieve these adventages:effective, reliable clinical therapy and so on.The objective of this subject is to study the preparation procedure and quality standard for Astragaloside Dropping pills. The result of vanillin-perchloric acid assay of the purity of astragaloside was 90%. The preparation conditions, such as the different kinds of matrix, the proportion between the extracts and matrix,the temperature of coolant, etc. were studied with L₉(3⁴) orthogonal design. The optimized project was as follow:the matrix contained PEG6000:PEG4000(9:l), the coolant was methyl-siliconoil(5¹0°C), the rate of the extracts to matrix was 1:4.6, the temperature of the drug solution was 80°C,the drug was dropped into coolant at 30 drops per minute. The productions were conformed to the standard of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2005. Radix Astragali in the dropping pills was identified by TLC. The content of Astragaloside IV in the dropping pills was examined by HPLC-ELSD.
