| Green chemistry is a cross frontier discipline which involves the whole chemistry field emerging in the face of the serious environmental crisis of 1990s.The goal of green chemistry can be only achieved with the efforts of talents who are green-conscious and competent of green knowledge and technology. However, cultivation of green talents cannot be separated from green education. Furthermore, the sustainable development of the society will depend more on the improvement of the nation's green consciousness than the few green talents with specialized knowledge. In China, teacher's colleges are the cradles of middle and primary school teachers. Green chemistry education there will directly improve the green consciousness of the middle and primary school teachers. As for the famous tourist city like Lijiang, establishment of the environment-preservation consciousness will directly influence the image of Lijiang as a world natural, historical and cultural heritage. As a result, the green chemistry education in Lijiang Teacher's College will be of great significant.The thesis by introducing the emergence and implication of green chemistry, discussing the trends and development of this field in China and in the world, points out the importance and emergence of green chemistry education on the basis of the facts of Lijiang, explores the ways of study and practice of green chemistry education in the teaching of chemistry. Finally, some reflections and suggestions are made on the present implementation of green chemistry. |
