Entering into the 21 century, iron and steel industry confronted that steel market must demand on deep and wide expanding, the new requirement of environment and resource has to make important choice. Confronted with the. new situation, we must resolve the challenges of the advanced technology and equipment, which are the corporations' lifelines. On the basis of experiences at home and abroad, it's the effective method of applying the new progress and technology, the advanced equipments, the large-scale and automatic electronic computer to high yield, high efficiency, high grade, power saving and reduce energy loss, multi-varieties and low-cost. The project of ASP1700 thin slab continuous casting and rolling is the core engineering that Jinan iron and steel Co had realized the importance of adjusting the industrial structure, updating of production, establishing the best thin slab base. The principal parts of the project have been designed, manufactured, exploited, and constructed by Anshan iron and steel Co. The production line which owns advanced technology, highly automated, the stable quantity and dependable circulating equipment, the productivity of qualified, powerful competitive power in the market is the first brief process of continuous casting and rolling production line with independent intellectual property right in our country.The target of continuous casting is making the liquid steel into casting billet. The high yield and grade, especially the continuous casting and rolling is difficult to be controlled by manpower. With the instant development of materials technique, power electronic technology, control theory technique, computer technology, microelectronic technique and the improving of producing electric machine, AC servo technique (AC servo electronic machine and AC servo control system) has become the dominant product.The AC servo driver technique which has being replaced the DC servo system has become basic technique in the industry field. In the project of ASP1700 thin slab continuous casting and rolling, the system of mould width adjust in the continuous casting is equipped with the new digital alternating servo control system. It represents the highest level in the world.In order to fetch up the domestic blank in the field and provide the system of the AC servo control's mold width modulation for the domestic iron and steel industry and combine the application of the system of mold width modulation, I have studied the Siemens motion controller, PLC system, servo motor and the application of field bus in this research. Centering on this goal, I have carried on the following research:1. Establishing the MC motion control system and optimization parameters: The conventional AC servo system can accomplish closed loop control on rate, not on position. In order to accomplish closed loop control on position, a position loop must be built up between servo motor and control system. In fact, the Siemens motion controller, being built up between parser and servo unit in motor, is a position loop with frequency converter.
