Open architecture numerical control system is an emphasis of CNC technology research. The level of open CNC technology influences the development of the nation manufacture, so to research and to develop an open architecture CNC system with self-intellectual property are meaningful for our country.This paper discusses the system structure of open architecture CNC system deeply, and analysis the servo system and CNC soft development trends of the open CNC. Based on the research work of CNC system and the advantages of the existed open CNC system, this paper put forward a new open CNC structure with a new architecture of off-line interpolation and real-time control. In the paper a scheme for building the open CNC system by this way is given. The reality open architecture in the hardware of CNC system has come true.The motion controller is an important part of the open CNC system based on serial real-time control network. The motion controller based on serial bus called axis servo controller is not only the important part of the new architecture which expound in this paper, but also a key link for bringing about open CNC in the hardware layer of CNC system. The paper expatiates on emphasis of the design for the axis servo controller using ASIC and microcontroller.The object that the axis servo controller wants to control in this paper is Permanent Magnet Synchronization Motor (PMSM). PMSM is a new type motor with many strong points, and will probably be used widely in servo control field in the future.In this paper, the Space Vector PWM (SVPWM) is used to design the PMSM servo controller by analyzing the math model of PMSM. It chooses the nine point controller to make a position controller, and uses fuzzy PI parameter adjust to make the PI controller in current loop and velocity loop control to have self adapt ability. The paper expatiates on the course of how to design and realize the axis servo controller for PMSM. At last, it approves the design train of though through simulation by MATLAB.
