This subject studied sorption of dyes from aqueous solutions onto fly ash. The parameter of fly ash was discussed, fly ash treated by four different methods of acid, 1kaline, actination at high temperature and organic,fly ash mixed with several traditional coagulants in sorption of dyes from aqueous solutions. The experiment results show that the efficiency of decoloration of 5~100mg/L reactive brilliant red can up to 90% with 60g/L fly ash. In four treating methods, the efficiency of adding calcium hydroxide and PDM-DAAC modified fly ash is the best, the following is actination at high tempera -ture, treated by acid is the worst. The efficiency of decoloration of 20mg/L reactive brilliant red can up to 95% with 17g/L fly ash, 30 g/L acid treated fly ash, 10 g/L actination at high temperature fly ash, 5 g/L adding calcium hydroxide and PDM-DAAC modified fly ash, under the given optimal conditions only with 3 g/L adding calcium hydroxide and PDM-DAAC modified fly ash. The efficiency of adding coagulants only is not good,fly ash mixed with several traditional coagulants can improve the ability of sorption of reactive brilliant red. For the decoloration of 100mg/L reactive brilliant red, the best proportion of PAC, FeSO4,MgSO4 mixed with fly ash is:30g/L fly ash mixed with 0. 2g/L PAC, the efficiency can up to 90. 34%, 20g/L fly ash mixed with 0. 3g/L FeSO4, the efficiency can up to 94. 62%, 10g/L fly ash mixed with 0. 2g/L MgSO4, the efficiency can up to 97.62%. At last, the effect and cost of different experiments project were analyzed, and the optimal condition for effective waste water was decided.
